Absolutely beautiful car but GTX1 rims are just hideous

Wonderful day for some top-down cruising in an American V8 supercar, don’t you think, dear?

Indeed! Let’s go!

Hey, I took this! That’s the mirror on my Mini.
Anyway, I replied to you elsewhere but it looks like this isn’t a GTX1, just an orange GT with GTX1 wheels.
Compare the rear window:
Versus:
E: in addition, the side says “GT” rather than “FORD GTX1” and the wheels are wrong. Looks like they’re replica wheels with a much more aggressive lip.
Sorry, $kay!

What other shows do you frequent?

Got to get passed by a GTX1 a few years ago in Montreal’s southshore... Damn, that was awesome!!!

Not much, honestly. This was about a 50 minute drive each way, and on an 80+ degree day, I find myself watching the temp gauge. The Mini revs too high to cruise at much above 50mph, so I have to take back roads essentially everywhere. Not complaining, just the way it goes.
Anyway, it wasn’t running for the last month so I hadn’t been taking it anywhere. I’ve gone to a few events with Milwaukee MINIs (club) and at cruise nights in Mundelein/Libertyville and I’ll probably be at the one in Round Lake tomorrow. It’s also been up to Road America. I’m all over the place, but not really to show it. I mostly just enjoy it. It’s not in great shape, but it does photograph pretty well! Just something to keep me from spending money on my DD nowadays.
E: I ran it at autocross with Milwaukee Region SCCA, and it may start taking the place of my BRZ for events put on by Chicago SCCA, WAI, TSSCC, and WCMC. That’s not even all the groups putting on autocross in the area! Man... We’ll see.

Libertyville and Mundelein would be hikes for me, and the shows closer to me sound like they would be even more of a drive for you. I would love to autocross my 72 Cutlass and 92 Grand marquis just for shits and giggles. Mostly giggles.

I'm assuming you're down south? There's just no way around it - it sucks to get around Chicagoland without using the tollway.

Not really south. I’m near O’Hare, but the traffic is horrendous at the time I would need to leave to get to most of the cruise nights.

Ah, for sure. Most of the events I go to (especially in the Mini) are on the weekends.
